Manitoba Social Innovations HUB - Working Across Generations

MFNPO Collabortion on social innovations hubs focused on Working Across Generations

MFNPO is collaborating with another five sector umbrella organizations across Canada on the idea to grow hubs of social innovation coast to coast to coast. Our social innovation hub's focus is on the idea of telling, collecting and disseminating stories and knowledge about " .Working Across Generations"

Our animator is Matt Koop-Pearce who relocated to Winnipeg from the Yukon and has assembled a group of journalists and writers who will be seeking and reporting on stories of innovation in our community.

His bio states: "My name is Matthew Koop-Pearce. I am an aspiring urban planner, a community development activist, and a graphic and web designer. In both my professional and creative work I explore interests in civic engagement, participatory culture, public space, urbanism, and digital media.

I am 25 years old, born and raised in Toronto and I hold a Bachelor of Humanities degree from Carleton University in Ottawa. I moved to Winnipeg three months ago after spending the last two years living in Whitehorse where I studied Multimedia Communications at Yukon College, was active in organizing community and social justice initiatives, and worked for the Yukon Arts Centre as Social Media Coordinator. I am currently based in Winnipeg undertaking a self-directed residency to explore and refne my ideas and creative output related to cities."

Matt will use a blog  http://socialinnovationmb.tumblr.com/ to share these stories with you in the community.

Stay tune for the beginning of the sector telling its stories that create and sustain important community change, story by story.
